(2008 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI) Also just to note I had my DPF completely cleaned out 6 months ago at around 100,000 miles after getting the engine malfunction light I have a focus titanium 1.6 tdci my engine management light came on a few weeks back, I got my dad to plug it into a snapon reader and the only faults coming up were to do with attempted entry to the car without being unlocked. The light you are showing (looks a bit like an engine block to me, not sure if its meant to) is a general engine malfunction warning according to the handbook, "go immediately to a ford dealer and get ripped off big bucks to have it reset". ok so very nearly got home after a 45 min drive pulled up to a round about changed down gear and the car cut out with a dash message of "engine malfunction" and the eps light illuminated, turned the car off and on again and it seemed ok (but eps light stayed on), then 2 mins later whilst I was low speed driving the car cut again and this time Hi all can anybody help got 2009 focus tdci econetic estate I’ve got a engine malfunction light come on diagnosed from diesel specialist as vnt turbo vains seized so stripped turbo down and cleaned it out but nothing wrong no play at all plus cleaned the egr valve out still no joy, does anybody k Hello , Car Model - Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI 2013 plate (2013 WHITE FORD FOCUS ZETEC ECONETIC TDCI)Hoping someone has had similar or knows what my issue is - I recently had my car put in for a full service, Once i got my car back i noticed on long journeys my acceleration becoming intermittent, it started to struggle in 5/6th gear up small hills id usually go up quite easily and needing to drop The dash panel says Engine Malfunction and the ESP indicator comes on solid. If I turn the ignition off for a few seconds, and restart, it is fine again- sometimes for all day- and sometimes for only a few minutes. I have had it on the computer and there are no engine fault codes coming up at all.
